I appreciate anyone taking the time to read and comment on the issue. But I can't open the System > Administration > Network window and decided to post before rebooting or trying anything stupid(er). Also note I still have internet access, and can ping the router and the windows box. Before posting the maindialog.py, and before changing ANYTHING, I figured I better post here and ask for help. The crashdump refers to lines in the GUI maindialog.py file. I was using the NetworkManager which I have seen is not favored by the gurus here (but it was working). Please save the crashdump and file a detailed bug report against system-config-network at " Then when accessing (from GUI) the System > Administration > Network, the following error occurs: With apologies, I set "a" host (not sure which host I was changing at the time) to a DNS of 192.168.1.1 but did not supply a hostname or alias. While trying to "see" the windows box I was experimenting with DNS settings. ![]() But I could not see the windows box from CentOS, nor could I see the CentOS share I had setup (for the windows box) from the Windows box. On my network at home ssh, and FTP from Windows box to CentOS box worked fine. My setup CetOS5.4, Gigabyte GA-K8U chipset, Atheros wireless LAN card, linksys router.
